2011 Philanthropy Development Outcomes - "Make a Difference Where it Matters"

online hosted by SVPI “Make a Difference Where it Matters” – The 2011 Philanthropy Development Outcomes Report is now available. The results are in, and they continue to be very positive! SVP is making a significant difference in the giving practices of its partners.
With 25 SVP affiliates in three countries, there are hundreds of anecdotal stories about the impact SVP has on its partners. This report supports the anecdotal evidence using a quantitative survey analysis of the effectiveness of SVP’s unique model. Specifically, the survey measured three key outcomes SVP promotes: changes in how much partners give; changes in how partners give; changes in partners’ involvement in their communities. The report collates the data from twenty SVP communities. Look for a media release on the results within the month.
SVPI be reviewing these results along with some of the demographic data that was collected.

40 Humewood Dr., Toronto, M6C 2W4 In 2011, Humewood House was selected by SVP Toronto for a renewable annual commitment of $15,000 per year for up to three years, in addition to partners’ consulting time and skills.
Humewood House (www.humewoodhouse.com) is a young parent resource centre, founded in 1912. They provide a safe and caring environment for young pregnant and parenting women and their children through residential services, life skills training, childcare, education and counseling.
Join Louise Moody, Executive Director, to explore the assumptions and realities around teen pregnancy, and learn more about the work Humewood House does to empower Toronto's most vulnerable single parents to make positive life choices for themselves and their children. Take a tour of the facilities and share a meal with other guests in a house that, over 100 years, so many have called home.
Dinner will be served.

Note: Mandatory training for partners who will be volunteering with our investees and did not attend the previous training. We held this training session in October 2011 and this is the 2nd session for partners who could not attend that date. Also good for new partners to have a deeper understanding of our work, the sector, and becoming a trusted advisor.
