Ruth Jones will be speaking about what is happening within the SVP network, and the external trends in the philanthropic community that will have an impact on the work we do. This will be a great opportunity to hear stories about other SVPs, learn some best practices, and be inspired by the impact SVPs have had on communities throughout our network.

Ruth Jones joined SVPI as Executive Director in 2006. Prior to moving to the United States, Ruth was Manager of Operations at Community Foundations of Canada, and General Manager of Philanthropy Australia, the membership association for Australia's private, family, corporate and community foundations. She was Chief Executive of the Australian Film Institute for five years, before deciding to focus on working within the philanthropic sector. At SVPI, Ruth oversees daily operations, affiliate and SVPI Board relations and fundraising for the organization. Incredibly energetic and dedicated to promoting SVPI around the world, Ruth works with local SVP affliates to help them take their organization to the next level.

Richard W. Ivey is Chairman of Ivest Properties Limited, a real estate development and management company, and The Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. Mr. Ivey currently serves as a Trustee of Newport Partners Income Fund and on the Boards of Canada Colors and Chemicals Limited, University Health Network, the Ivey Foundation, Pearson College of the Pacific Foundation and the Toronto Community Foundation. He also serves on the Advisory Boards of Social Capital Partners and the Richard Ivey School of Business. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in February 2006. Mr. Ivey practiced law at Torys until 1982.
