Formed at the end of 2007, SVPT is a distinctive partnership that brings together leaders in the Toronto community to invest time and money in the most pressing issues facing the city. SVP Toronto is based on a proven model that spans 25 cities in three countries -- including 4 partnerships in Canada -- and includes over 2000 partners. We believe that leveraging our dollars with our time and expertise maximizes our impact on Toronto.

Individuals join by making an individual or shared charitable donation of $5,000 or more annually and gain great returns in exchange. While the reasons for joining SVPT vary, all tend to revolve around the following themes:

• the opportunity to work alongside a group of dynamic professionals who care deeply about making a difference in our city;
• the opportunity to better understand Toronto’s needs through SVPT’s education programs;
• the opportunity to shape the direction of SVPT in its developmental stages; and,
• the opportunity to experience a “new wave” of philanthropy that is more active and more engaged than alternative options.

In less than three years, we've gotten off to a great start with an incredibly talented and diverse group of partners (numbering approximately 50 today) and clear plans to grow the organization and our capacity to maximize our impact on Toronto.
