Formed at the end of 2007, SVPT is a unique partnership that brings together leaders in the Toronto community to invest time and money in the most pressing issues facing the city. Based on a proven model that spans over 20 cities across North America (and includes over 1800 partners) we believe that leveraging our dollars - with our time and expertise - will maximize our impact on Toronto.

While the reasons for joining SVPT vary, all tend to revolve around the following themes:

• the opportunity to work alongside a group of dynamic professionals who care deeply about making a difference in our city;
   
• the opportunity to better understand Toronto’s needs through SVPT’s education programs;
   
• the opportunity to shape the direction of SVPT at its infancy;
   
• the opportunity to experience a “new wave” of philanthropy that is more active and more engaged than alternative options;

While less than a year old, we are off to a great start with an incredibly talented and diverse group of partners (numbering approximately 40 today) and clear plans to continue to grow the organization and our capacity to maximize our impact on Toronto.
