Charity Space

SVPT awards operating grants of up to $75,000 over three years to Toronto-based not-for-profit organizations with a focus on poverty reduction (the “Investee Agency”). SVPT will make its first grant in the first half of 2008.

In addition to a financial grant, we will offer our selected Investee Agency the personal time, resources and business expertise of our Partners to assist them in meeting and growing their operational capacity, while helping service and transform local communities. Our Partner Group brings a breadth and depth of expertise including senior executives in business, marketing, strategy, legal and governance. It is our vision that their time and expertise will represent the bulk of the value to our selected Investee Agency.

SVPT grant funds and Partner time is intended to help our investee agency build its organizational capacity, specifically core skills, management practices, strategies and systems to enhance the organization’s effectiveness, sustainability and ability to fulfill its mission. SVP believes that stronger management, systems and infrastructure result in strong organizations that can more effectively achieve their objectives and fulfill their mission.
