Poverty Focus

SVPT is seeking to work with and invest in a non-profit organization that is delivering solutions to prevent and/or reduce poverty in one or a combination of the following areas:

• Community economic development (i.e. social enterprise)
• Employability / job skills training / education (i.e. building sustainable livelihoods)
• Life Skills (including but not limited to budgeting, financial literacy, nutrition)
• Income security

We are interested in the range of service delivery approaches including neighbourhood or place-based approaches, as well as agencies serving a particular group of people most impacted by poverty (i.e. single parent families, newcomers, children). We are very open to innovative approaches to service delivery, especially those that we can help to grow, both in terms of people served and quality of offerings.
