Step One – Letter of Intent – due Friday, January 21st
 
Complete the Letter of Intent form  below and return it via email to grantapplication@svptoronto.org by 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2011. This will let us know you are interested in applying and provide the information for us to understand how you meet our eligibility criteria and would be a potential fit for the SVP model. The SVPT Investment Committee will select from the submitted Letters of Intent a short-list of agencies who will be invited to submit an application. All agencies will be notified of the status of their Letter of Intent by March 1, 2011.
 
Before downloading the Letter of Intent, answer each of the questions listed below. Please note that you must be able to answer “yes” to each question to be eligible for consideration by SVPT.
 
  1. Is your organization currently a registered charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency?
  2. Is your organization’s mission and services primarily focused on poverty reduction or prevention either on an individual client basis or system level?
  3. Is your organization’s management team able to commit the time to working with SVP Partner volunteers, possibly for 5 – 10 hours a month?
  4. Do you have audited financial statements to demonstrate your organization’s financial management as part of SVP’s consideration of investment?

Step Two – Full Application & Organizational Capacity Assessment by Invitation – due May 2011
 
Agencies invited to submit a full application will also work with SVP to assess their capacity needs which will provide SVPT with detailed information about the organization’s work and accomplishments and how SVP volunteers and funds can help build the agency’s capacity. Each applicant will work with a pair of SVPT Partners who will assist in developing the application as well as learning about how SVPT can work with the organization. More information about SVPT’s application support will be provided with the invitation to submit a full application.
